WORLD CUP TIME!

As you most likely know, soccer is my life. I love it in every way. That must mean that I watch the world cup. Unfortunately, the US got eliminated right after the preliminary, so my next choice was either Brazil or Argentina. Then, unfortunately again, both got eliminated in the quarter final. By this point, I am almost officially neutral, until I watched the first semifinal game in the tournament of 2010, which was today at 2:00 eastern time, July 6th. The game was the Netherlands vs. Uruguay. At half time, the game was tied 1-1, both of the captains being the scorers. Naturally, the Netherlands are really fun to watch play, and bring really good energy to the field. In about the 68th minute, Holland scores another goal, that was offsides but was not called as an offsides play. In about 2 minutes, they would score again, leaving Uruguay trailed 3-1 near the 70 minute mark. Suddenly, with Uruguay's hope almost gone, there is a free kick and they score in the 90th minute about, leaving the score 3-2..... Netherlands. There were no goals after that, and the Netherlands is the first team advancing to the 2010 World Cup Finals. They will either play Germany or Spain. With this result, this will be the first time that the teams playing in the finals are all Euros. Seeing how the Netherlands play opened my eyes to the amount of abundance that is excitment of watching soccer, which is why I am a new fan of the Netherlands national soccer team, and will be rooting for them despite who they play in the finals, which will be held next Sunday.
